History
It was in the second half of the nineties, a group of friends, lovers of two wheels met on weekends so that they could enjoy the pleasure of the connection, motorcycles and conviviality. Naturally, this small group were quickly adding more elements and some of those rides turned into true concentrations that could reach six dozen bikes.
Meanwhile, the Association of Motorcycle Madeira moved to Porto Santo to take the Regional Championship motocross and TT to "the Golden Island". In these missions the President of A.M.M., Rui Zacarias, encouraged Miguel Lourenço (1st President of the CMM) and Diego Henriquez to form a Madeira biker's club. Said and done.
Already in Madeira, met in a cafe with a few more elements and then discussed the details, a new club was born: the "Club Motards da Madeira".
Beginning on October 1, 1998 with Miguel Lorenço, Diego Henriquez, João Rodrigues, Dídio Cabral, Duarte Pontes and Sérgio Abreu, the Club of all Madeira Motards was born.
Currently chaired by Diego Henriquez and with almost 500 members, the CMM there goes exploring the roads of Madeira, Porto Santo and overseas and now has a representation of Madeira at the highest concentration Motard of Europe: "Concentration of Faro".
We have some clubs of the peninsula that went to Madeira to take part in Club events and are already many contacts of others who wished to join these events.
Collaborative actions and solidarity are part of the curriculum of the CMM, and more recently to participate in the last Regional Drug Prevention, the opening party of the School Games with a Motard parade and organize the Madeira Tourist Trophy (the international race for classic bikes), held in Machico.
After eleven years of its foundation the Club Motards da Madeira, continues to gather in their concentrations an increasingly number of people. In these eventes there are whole families together, from grandchildren to grandparents. To be a Motard there is no age, just will.
The whole world is made of change.
But the Motard spirit... prevails.
